Irvine, California-based vendor's AP Agility application features a Microsoft Azure software as a service (SaaS) deployment option, which cuts back on hardware and software maintenance. While the software has an out-of-the-box integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP, a pre-built framework enables integration with any other cloud-based or on-premises ERP system, according to a release.
Additional features include the ability to process invoices in multiple formats, such as paper, electronic and email, configurable matching rules to remediate exceptions and analytics on AP process performance.
Gartner recognizes 'cool' HCM vendors
Even as the weather gets warmer, Gartner Inc. is thinking cool thoughts. The Stamford, Connecticut-based research firm featured four vendors in its 2014 "Cool Vendors in Human Capital Management Software" report earlier this month: Axonify, Logi-Serve, OrgVue by Concentra and PeopleDoc Inc. According to co-author and Principal Research Analyst Jeff Freyermuth, Axonify is making a splash in the learning arena by incorporating games, leaderboards and personalized learning plans. Co-author and Research Director Ron Hanscome wrote that Logi-Serve is bringing a fresh perspective to the talent assessment space by "[providing] a potentially disruptive alternative for service and sales jobs that combines a validated competency framework with an immersive, gamified candidate experience that simulates real-life job situations." HR analytics and workforce planning system OrgVue eases data integration and cleansing efforts, according to Hanscome, and PeopleDoc provides a secure platform to store and retrieve HR documents.
But before buying, business leaders should consider an important trend. Noting that four of Gartner's Cool HCM Vendors alumni have been acquired over as many years, Yvette Cameron, research director for human capital management (HCM) technologies, wrote, "As HCM innovation continues at the edges, we have witnessed a growing appetite for mergers and acquisitions in the space ... We would anticipate that this acquisition spree will continue in the near-to-intermediate term."
Concur named a leader in user rankings grid
Many companies are leaving paper expense-reporting processes behind by adopting dedicated software. But with a number of options available, how can an organization choose a vendor?
G2 Crowd's recently released Crowd Grid for Expense Management can provide a jumping-off point. The grid, compiled from 350 user reviews and satisfaction ratings by the Highland Park, Illinois-based enterprise software review company, features a single vendor in the leader's quadrant: Concur. Its positioning reflects both high market presence and customer satisfaction scores.
Six additional vendors were dispersed among the remaining three quadrants. High performers -- vendors with high satisfaction scores but lower market presence -- include Clarizen, Expensify and Certify, while niche vendors -- those that are low on both counts -- include Tenrox and BillQuick. NetSuite is the sole occupant of the contender's quadrant, with lower satisfaction and higher market presence.
