What do you think are the most important steps to take during the software application testing period of a new business system?
One of the most important steps is planning. This is what separates the formal testing phase from limited testing previously performed during the design and construction phases.
During this planning period, it is critical to make sure that the right end-users will participate in testing, developing test cases and integration testing. A test case specifically defines what to test in terms of business process scenarios and includes the expected results. It is best to test as many scenarios as possible to achieve a high level of test coverage.
Integration testing is about ensuring all modules of the system work well together when processing complete business processes through the network. For example, the sales-to-cash process involves many modules; that entire process must be able to run with no software glitches.
